The above screen shows the most critical component of the IntelliOffice solution, there are six important functions to understand, this is a CAD specialist operation.
There are 2 ways to access the Linking Tools, from the Nav Bar and the Locations Form
Use the Admin Icon on the Nav Bar to access the Link Drawings functions from the slide out menu list. This will display the Link Subject control to allow a Drag and Drop or Upload of a pre-conditioned CAD file.
There are Templates for Space, Floors and Suites, as each of these point to the corresponding IDN Layers in the drawing. See below
If it is a new Floor then you will be requested to add a Building and Floor Code.
You can also access the Linking Engine from the Locations Button on the Dashboard, first select the Building you wish and then select the Floor, Link Drawings is an available option.
Drag and Drop a CAD file or use the Upload button.
Now Select Space to Link each Polylined Space in the Drawing. Be sure to Click Execute and Commit Changes to Save the data
These are self explanatory and will indicate what adjustments or fixes will be required back in your CAD editor. Once the items have been addressed, do an Upload of the revised CAD file and press Execute Link, the counts in the Legend should be reduced.
When all looks good press Commit Changes in the Results section.
For a Space to be attached to the database it requires three completed steps:
No Text - a Polylined area does not have a unique Space ID, resolve by opening CAD File and entering a unique ID inside the defined Space boundary on the correct Layer. There are cases where some common areas may not require a Space ID, these can be left blank or can be automatically addressed by the system (discuss this option with your CAD Administrator)
Duplicate - a Space ID is identical to another Space ID, creating a Duplicate ID, resolve by editing one of the Space IDs, Save and Upload / Link, you can not have any duplicate numbers for a Space.
Not Closed - All Polylines must be Closed, most often by using the "C" command in CAD on the last segment of a Space Polyline. If the area boundary is not properly Closed the system will not be able to Link the area. Sometimes two Polylines might overlap and need to be separated to make each space unique.
